Powdermills Bunkhouse
Powdermills Bunkhouse is located in the heart of Dartmoor National Park close to Princetown and Postbridge. It's the perfect choice for family gatherings or groups wishing to spend time exploring Dartmoor. Since first opening it has been a huge success, with many groups returning year after year.
It is ideal for groups who wish to walk on Dartmoor or for kayaking groups wishing to tackle the white water rivers over the winter.
Powdermills is also a great venue for a stag or hen weekend if combined with activities.
Many of Spirit of Adventure’s course participants elect to stay in the bunkhouse.
There is an excellent choice of local inns and restaurants within a few miles.
The Dewerstone Cottage
The Dewerstone Cottage is situated in the heart of the Dewerstone National Trust Estate on the southern flanks of Dartmoor National Park.
Spirit of Adventure acquired the lease in mid 2014 and have completely refurbished the property.
The cottage is ideal for groups who wish to climb as the Dewerstone is a fantastic climbing venue but it is also a lovely spot to walk, either through the estate or onto Dartmoor. It is also the perfect spot to get away from it all.
Spirit of Adventure use it as a base for its climbing courses and also for school residential programmes.
Powdermills Details
Comfortable and warm with excellent facilities - just what you need after an active day out.
- Warm and cosy, storage heaters in every room
- Comfortable lounge with wood burning stove
- Firewood provided
- Efficient drying room with dehumidifier
- Fully equipped kitchen with commercial electric range, fridge, freezer, toasters, microwave etc
- Crockery, pans and tea towels provided
- Hot and cold running water
- Excellent showers and washing facilities.
- 28 bunk spaces in 4 rooms – two 4 berth, one 8 berth and one 12 berth
- Mattress cover/under sheet provided. You will need your own duvet/sleeping bag and pillow
This is a no smoking bunkhouse.

- £18 per person per night.

Dewerstone Cottage Details
The Cottage is comfortable and warm with excellent facilities. It is situated in the heart of the Plym Valley, alongside the River Meavy.
- Warm and cosy – with heaters in every room.
- Comfortable lounge with wood burning stove, tables, chairs and sofas.
- Firewood provided.
- Very efficient drying room with dehumidifier.
- Fully equipped kitchen with 6 burner stove and efficient oven, fridge, freezer, toasters, etc. All crockery, pans and tea towels provided.
- Hot and cold running water provided.
- Excellent showers and washing facilities.
- 34 bunk spaces in 6 rooms – two 10-berth, one 6-berth, one 4-berth and two 2-berth. Mattress cover/bottom sheet provided. You will need your own duvet/sleeping bag and pillow

- £18 per person per night.
