TWO & THREE STAR KAYAKING COURSE (Flat Water)

Kayaking on Dartmoor!  Our personal proficiency Kayaking courses are for beginners or for people with very little paddling experience. However this course is for people who have done a reasonable amount of paddling on flat water. This is not a moving water course. 
The itinerary for this course will depend on which discipline you have chosen to be tested at. The inland (white water) will be on one of our local rivers up to grade 2. The sea kayaking will be along a stretch of our fantastic coastline whilst the touring award will be on an inland estuary or water course.

Each discipline will meet the requirements of the BCU syllabus and will be run by qualified BCU coaches. The training and assessment will take place over the 2 days with the third day being a leisurely paddle to enjoy your new and developed skills.

As before this course is still ideal for those who just wish to tone existing skills or challenge themselves that little extra.  All our courses are run in an informative but relaxed manner, enabling you to enjoy the weekend to its full potential.

We are an approved British Canoe Union (BCU) centre which certifies that our kayaking, canoeing and water based sessions are run to the highest standards and that our equipment is up to date and well maintained.

We will provide all the specialist equipment required - this includes wet-suits, cagoules, buoyancy aids kayaks and paddles.

Maximum instructor to paddler ratio 1: 6

The courses are run on the edge of Dartmoor on a secluded lake making it an ideal location.

Accommodation.

We will arrange your accommodation for you, there are hotels guesthouses, hostels, bunkhouse and campsites on the moor. Many people choose to stay in our Bunkhouse at Powder Mills. If you are local to Dartmoor you are very welcome to travel up each day.
