High Hopes for Special Needs Adventures

Activity Adventures for 2012
For 2012 we are running four exciting adventure holiday trips. These trips are designed for those with some disability which prevents them from joining mainstream adventure activities. The object is to give the ‘Adventurers’ a sense of achievement and to encourage more independence and self-confidence – and above all to have fun.

If you are up for an adventure, but need that extra hand to enable you to take part, then this could well be the trip for you!

The only requirements needed to take part are a keen sense of adventure, a willingness to try something different and a good sense of humour!!

River Dart Adventure
A six day adventure based on the banks of the River Dart in our private campsite. Canoeing, walking, and bushcraft skills are all explored under expert and qualified guidance. For this trip we shall be camping in the beautiful wooded estate that once belonged to Sir Walter Raleigh just outside Dartmouth in Devon.

River Wye Canoe Expedition
A six day adventure based at Lucksall campsite, Holme Lacy. Each day we will be launching from a different location to take in as much of the river as possible. The River Wye flows through some of the most pleasant Welsh border country. The river is teeming with bird life, swans, ducks and sand martins galore.

Spanish Activity Experience
We have decided to visit the lovely mountain village of Sella again. Staying in a 300 year old farmhouse surrounded by typical Spanish terraces with oranges, lemons and avocado trees, giving a real old style Spanish feel. It is an ideal base for canoeing, exploring the countryside, climbing and having fun. There will be plenty of time to relax and swim after the day’s activities.

Cycling the Tarka Trail.

This is a new trip for 2012, which will take us along the tarka trail in North Devon. The Trail is just over 30 miles long which will take us 3 days in the saddle with a rest day in the middle where we can take in some of the lovely coastal walks in North Devon. We have sourced a hire company that rent adult tricycles if your balance isnt too good!
