Dartmoor National Park is an ideal location to improve your navigation skills.
This practical course will introduce you to a variety of techniques, including poor visibility skills, pacing and timing. We will take you through every aspect of the more technical side of navigation from interpreting ground shape from the map, pacing and micro navigation.
These courses include knowledge of safety and access issues when walking in the countryside, as well as an understanding of environmental issues and awareness of impacts.
This is the perfect course to improve your basic skills for navigating in the mountains and wild country of the UK with confidence. So come along and learn skills whilst enjoying Devon's wild and beautiful landscape!!
National Navigation Award Scheme
Spirit of Adventure is proud to be a registered provider for the National Navigation Award Sceme (NNAS). So we can offer as a free option the chance to be trained and assessed at the level appropriate to your skills.

Accommodation
We are very happy to arrange your accommodation, there are hotels guesthouses, hostels, bunkhouse and campsites on the moor. Many people choose to stay in our Bunkhouse at Powder Mills. If you are local you are very welcome to travel in each day.
