Safe But Fun
Spirit of Adventure has an excellent safety record, of which we are very proud. The safety of all our guests, guides and trekking crews are of paramount importance, and we use only the very best equipment.
We are very happy to let you have a copy of any of our instructors’ qualifications, and copies of our safety policy and risk assessments. We constantly strive to maintain and update safety procedures to enable us to provide a safe environment to give you a quality time whilst on any Spirit of Adventure activity course or adventure holiday.

AALA (Adventure Activities Licensing Authority)
Spirit of Adventure has been inspected by The Adventure Activities Licensing Authority and is licensed to provide specified activities under the following headings: Water Sports, Climbing and Trekking.
The activities include kayaking, canoeing, rock climbing (multi and single pitch), abseiling, gorge scrambling, orienteering, mountain-biking, hill walking and mountaineering.
Our registration number is L2375/R0086.

BCU (The British Canoe Union)
Spirit of Adventure is an approved British Canoe Union (BCU) centre.
The British Canoe Union is the lead body for canoeing and kayaking in the UK.
We are annually inspected by the BCU to check that our kayaking and canoeing sessions meet the highest possible standards and that our equipment is well maintained and of good quality.
AMI (Association of Mountain Instructors)
John Diplock is a holder of the Mountain Instructor Award (MIA). He is also a member of the Association of Mountain Instructors (AMI), a professional body striving to maintain the highest levels of safety and instruction.
John is a provider of Walking Group Leader and Single Pitch Award courses for outdoor instructors as approved by Mountain Leader Training for the UK.
